Scipy India 2014

SciPy India is a conference providing opportunities to spread the use of the Python programming language in the Scientific Computing community in India which was organized on Dec. 5th, 6th and 7th. In this conference Prof. Jayendran Venkateswaran, Associate Professor, IEOR department, IIT Bombay and Principal Investigator of OR-Tools gave a presentation on "Solving Optimization Problems using Python/PuLP". In this he discussed about what is optimization and its application. He also discussed about PuLP which is the interface to call solvers like GLPK, Coin-OR, CPLEX and Gurobi. He also solved a linear programming problem using PuLP. And discussed plant location model.

CSI TECHNEXT India 2014-15

Computer Society of India (CSI) hosted a 2 day Convention TechNext India 2014-15 on 31st January to 1st February, 2015 at Victor Menezes Convention Centre of the IIT Bombay at Powai. OR-Tools team organized a hands-on workshop on "Solving Optimization Problems using Python/PuLP". Prof. Ashutosh Mahajan, Assistant Professor, IEOR department, IIT Bombay and Principal Investigator of OR-Tools discussed about the Optimization and its type. In this the team did the hands-on session on solving a linear programming and mixed integer programming problem using PuLP. PuLP is an interface to call solvers like GLPK, Coin-OR, CPLEX and Gurobi. The team also discussed plant location model.
